Biography
David Datuna was born in 1974 in Tbilisi, Georgia. He studied at the faculty of journalism in Moscow University. In New York he studied Ophtomology Injeneering, he also as a free listener passed two-year art class. He left Georgia in 1991 for Moscow. Since 1999 he lives and works in New York, USA.David Datuna’s art works were exhibited in Europe, Russia, China and USA.
David Datuna's signature technique in Viewpoint of Millions is a network of positive and negative optical lenses suspended over a large-scale layered, collaged and painted image.[4] The mixed media palette often includes photography, newspaper articles, magazine clippings, paint and color. Merging the handcrafted and the technological, the historical and the contemporary, the personal and the universal, mixed-media artist David Datuna creates layered compositions through which he presents social, political, and cultural issues for consideration from multiple viewpoints.
