Biography

Nana Gagoshidze was born in 1962 in Tbilisi, Georgia. She graduated law faculty from Tbilisi State University and worked as a lawyer in Georgia. Since 2015 Nana Gagoshidze lives and works in New Jersey, USA. Nana together with her sister Nino works and participates in the exhibitions. In 2002-2014 she participated in different exhibitions and festivals. At the beginning Nana discovered silk as an art material. While working on the silk she has been looking for a method by which she could frame the art work made by silk and cocoon. After many experiments Nana could get the method – to paint with silk and cocoons on the merinos’ canvas. Nana mainly uses Georgian silk in her art.

Nana Gagoshidze together with Nino works on 3d images of Silk paintings. They create night silk lightings, unusual design leather bags, belts and shoes. Since 2015 started second period of art in sisters life. By the end of 2015 their artworks were exhibited together with famous American artists at Torchi Gallery in Belmar, New Jersey, US. This exhibition was followed by other exhibitions next year in New York at Manhattan in the Emanuel Feminy Gallery and Artefact Gallery; In 2017 – Art expo, NY; Gadite Galleries etc.
