Biography

Zurab Berozashvili (pseudonym – Zurab Bero) was born in 1982 in Gurjaani, Georgia. In 1999-2002 he studied sculpture at Tbilisi State Academy of Art. In 2002-2006, Zurab studied German Literature and Linguistics Faculty at Berlin Humboldt University and Potsdam University. In 2006, he continued his undergraduate study as a sculptor at UDK, Universität der Künste Berlin. In 2007-2009, he worked as an assistant professor at UDK. In 2009, he received his Bachelor’s degree and began graduate studies at UDK. After graduation, he participated in different exhibitions and symposiums including: „Haus der Künste München“, „Berliner Dom“, „GIZ-Berlin“, „Symposium Tivoli, Italy“, Symposium Oronsko, Poland, Nord Art and many others. In 2010, he received a Diffring Award. In 2012, he began a Postgraduate Master Studies Program for Art in Context, also at UDK-Berlin. During his study, he became a member of the entrance exam committee and the student government. In 2015, he received his master degree and published his thesis work as a book titled "Film Censorship in Georgia and its Influence on Creative Processes". Zurab Bero currently lives and works in Berlin.
