Biography

Guy Meliava was born in 1938, Cravanche, France. He graduated from Paris professional art University (l'Ecole supérieure des Métiers d'Art). He created over forty artworks in various countries around the world, both independently and in collaboration with other artists. He restored Stained Glass of about ten historic sites, and also worked on Stained Glass decorations in opera performances. 

Guy Meliava has participated in numerous international exhibitions, including: Museum of Stained Glass, Switzerland (1989), International Center of Stained Glass, Chartres, France (1987), Stained Glass and Lighting, Defans, France (1986), Center for French Professional Art, Kuwait (1977) ), French Professional Art Center, Paris, France (1977) etc. 

Artist and mosaicist Guy Meliava has worked on temples and other buildings in France and elsewhere (Temple of the Holy Spirit, Bonua, Ivory Coast, 1998; Jacques Chapel, Ivory Coast, 1995; Embassy of Georgia, Paris, France, 1995; Francophone Center, Cotonou, Republic of Benin, 1994;

St. Louis Hospital, Paris, France (in collaboration with artist Guy-Rachel Gratalup) 1984; Hotel Concord, Cairo, Egypt, 1980; Ministry of Defense- Caracas, Venezuela, 1979; National Museum of Antiquities, Saint-Germain-an-Le, France, 1969, etc.)

Guy Meliava died in 2006, buried in Batumi, Georgia.
